Situated at the heart of Britain's oldest recorded town is the home of Colchester and Tendring Athletics Club.  We take pride in the level of coaching we provide our athletes and the dedication of the many volunteers behind the scenes.  Our younger athletes are encouraged with training programmes that include elements of all disciplines through fun activities.  As they progress through the club to U13's and upwards, the training is more focussed on specific events with tailored training programmes.  Please visit this web site regularly for information on forthcoming matches, results and news.

Please note that our younger athletes currently training at the Garrison Gym will be returning to the track on Monday 5th March 6.30pm-7.30pm.  The track will therefore not be available to our older athletes for training until 7.30pm from that date.  If anyone can help with the earlier session please contact Ian Kelly, Garry Porter ir or Stephen Cartwright.

Colchester & Tendring youngsters were amongst the medal winners when competing in the Essex Cross Country Relays at Hadleigh Country Park on Saturday, in the 3 x 3000mt. U17’s race Joe Alexendar got the Black Vests off to a good start with a solid run of 9m59s. (2nd fastest of the day) ; Joe Gibbon ran a well paced leg in 10m.25s. with Dean Frost finishing strongly in a time of 10m.30s. to earn the CAT’s Silver Medals. In the U13 Boys the squad of three did the Club proud Max Williams regaining form recorded 11m.47 for his leg with the determined Jack Mabbott 11m.54s and the fast finishing William Page finishing his lap in 12m.20s to earn the CAT’s a well deserved Bronze Medals.    This Saturday sees the National Cross Country Championship taking part at Parliament Hill Fields London.

Colchester Half Marathon are back to follow up the fantastic 2011 race. The Colchester Half Marathon brings runners of all abilities a new town centre route, once again starting and finishing at the fantastic Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Colchester and Tendring youngsters came away with a bag full of medals when competing at the Essex and Eastern Counties Indoor Champs at Lee Valley this weekend.  A star perfomance came from youngster Caitlin O'Reilly, the 12 year old earning herself seven medals.  CAT's results are below:-

Jack Mabbutt of Colchester and Tendring produced a great run to win the U17’ 53-12 Junior race at Witham over a snow covered course, in the Senior race CAT’s had the rare occurrence  of having two father and sons competing in the same race and scoring valuable points to help the CAT’s squad finish an excellent 3rd in their B Pool Section over a 5 mile course Lawrence Riches was 29th – Dean Frost 30th – Gary Riches 45th  and Kevin Frost 83rd.
