Situated at the heart of Britain's oldest recorded town is the home of Colchester and Tendring Athletics Club. We take pride in the level of coaching we provide our athletes and the dedication of the many volunteers behind the scenes. Our younger athletes are encouraged with training programmes that include elements of all disciplines through fun activities. As they progress through the club to U13's and upwards, the training is more focussed on specific events with tailored training programmes. Please visit this web site regularly for information on forthcoming matches, results and news.

Well done to all the Under 13 & Under 11 athletes who competed in last week's mini-competition at the track. There were some very good performances in the four events, the results for which are below. These results will now be passed to the club coaches to be used to target training for those with talents in particular events. Apologies for the delay with the results, the sheer weight of numbers on the night posed some problems to the organisation, with more athletes than ever taking part. I assure you all that lessons have been learnt! Congratulations to those who received their gold, silver and bronze medals on Monday evening. We have certificates for all who took part which are a record of your achievements on the night, ready for collection at training. Full results can be found HERE

Essex Cross Country Relays
In sizzling temperatures, and not a spot of mud in sight anywhere, 3 intrepid young ladies from CATS competed in the Essex Cross County relays today. Winks, Georgie and Sian did the vest proud and each completed their leg of the relay in 20:09, 20:09 and 23:18 respectively. Great runs from each of them and a really good comeback for Sian after missing the last two seasons with injury.
There were literally 100s of entrants and I have no idea where they finally came, but whilst I know they did not medal they could well have been mid field, which all in all I thought was a very good effort from the three of them.
I was really surprised by how many were there (probably helped by the weather) with multiple teams entered in each category by most clubs.
So well done to the three girls for being the sole representatives for CATS

Very well done to those teams: U13 BOYS, U15 BOYS, U15 GIRLS & U17/SENIOR LADIES who have made it to the EAL finals day at Bury St. Edmunds. This is a great achievement! It gives you the chance of winning a trophy as the finals are decided by each age group’s performances on finals day alone. League Manager Mandy Hicks has a great track record at finals day and has brought home age group trophies for the last two years! She will now be working towards to getting her best possible teams together for the event. There will be bus transport provided for those selected to compete or you can make your own way there. With so many teams making it to the final, we may well have to rethink the customary celebratory stop at the KFC on the way home since we would swamp them with orders. However, we apparently have a cunning plan...
